Activities
The village has many activities available. is only a few yards
behind Beckside is Spoon Hall, where daily pony treks are available.
 
Down in the Village Summertreks hire out mountain bikes, canoes and
walking equipment.
Down by the lake side you can hire a boat, from the Coniston boating
centre, sail, swim or take a leisurely
trip on the famous steam yacht Gondola.
If you are a keen fisherman or fancy a try, Coniston is one of the few
lakes where char can be caught, a fish that dates back to the Ice Age.
daily or weekly permits are available from the village Post Office or
Information Centre. Other fish to be caught in the lake include Brown
Trout, Pike, Perch, Eels and in the Autumn you might be lucky enough to
spot the Sea Trout.

- The best of the village pubs as far as
food is concerned, serves traditional pub bar meals and brew’s it’s own
beer. Bluebird Bitter and Old Man Ale.

- An old fashioned pub, low-ceilings and
stone floors, the food is traditional and usually of a high standard.

nice place for lunch if you are in the area.
